Phonics Video Lessons |
Our phonic video lessons are deliberately not fun and entertaining. Videos with pictures flashing across the screen every five seconds and jingling music do nothing to promote the concentration needed to learn literacy skills.
These are serious lessons for the use of serious teachers/parents whose desire is to raise thinking readers of serious material. Those raised on a diet of entertainment tend to only read shallow material, aimed at entertaining.
Many pupils have failed with fun, entertaining reading programmes as their attention has been drawn away from the text by the music and flickering images. We focus the attention on the words and meaning, as it should be.
